The right weight loss supplements will help you more quickly and effectively achieve the slender, athletic physique you desire. In this article, I start off by laying the essential groundwork (briefly), then go on to get very specific about nutritional supplements for weight loss, some of which you may never have heard about.
Below, you will find new, advanced information on causes of belly fat and overweight, and innovative scientific research on effective weight loss.
What is THE Most Important Factor in Achieving Weight Loss (Not What You Might Think)
One of my husband's friends runs a physical therapy practice in New York State. While visiting last summer, he told us of some research he and some colleagues did regarding patients' success in healing.
What do you think they found to be the most important factor in peoples' ability to heal?
Here it is...(drum roll, please)...
Willingness to change!
If you want to lose weight, and are having trouble doing so, you need to change something. Below, I provide information that will help you achieve your weight loss goals.
Weight Loss Essentials
Nutritional supplements for weight loss can help you lose weight only if you have the foundation of a healthy lifestyle firmly in place. If you do, good for you! If not, I want to make sure that you know how to prepare the way and make it easiest and most effective for you to slim down.
Exercise, and Nutrient-Dense Diet are Essential for Weight Loss!
What do I mean by 'nutrient-dense diet?' Think arugula, romaine lettuce and parsley as opposed to iceberg lettuce; grass-fed organic beef as opposed to feedlot meat; locally-grown as opposed to shipped from Chile - you get the idea.
I'm going to be very blunt about this. There are NO magic pills (at least none that won't do harm) that will allow you to lie around and eat junk while losing weight. You can't fool Mother Nature.
However, there are nutritional supplements that will aid and enhance the process of losing weight along with even a moderately healthy lifestyle.
Losing Weight is a Choice!
I give you many practical suggestions from 30 years of independent research on diet and nutritional supplements. However, the most important ingredients are your desire and your willingness to take consistent action.
The Role of Emotion
You will more likely achieve success when you are willing to open to what your emotions have to tell you. Opening to receive and understand your emotions is an act of self-love! Emotions that are buried and denied instead of recognized and resolved create unconscious tension. Eating too much is one way people avoid feeling. Resolving emotional issues helps free us to be more at choice about our food intake.
In my own experiences of eating too much and eating foods that were not good for me, I discovered there was usually an emotional component.By getting out of denial and letting myself feel some things that were painful, I was able to move on and achieve my goals of optimal health. Emotional freedom is an important part of losing weight.
Part of becoming emotionally free is developing more patience with yourself. We are all too programmed to beat ourselves up with guilt and make life unpleasant for ourselves for not being perfect. Life, learning, losing weight, and achieving vibrant health and happiness are all a process, a journey.
(There are other possible causes of compulsive eating that are more a result of physiological imbalances; I discuss those below).
Allergy-Addictions
Yes, you heard right
Weight Loss Don'ts
The following list may include some 'sacred cows' - foods you crave and eat habitually. Most of them are as addictive as heroin (in fact for people centuries ago, sugar had a similar effect as that notorious drug). You also might reflect on the fact that when Eskimos, American Indians, and other vibrantly healthy natives were introduced to alcohol by the Europeans, the results were disastrous.
If you truly enjoy any of these items and want to continue using them as part of your diet, do so. I write to inspire and support you in achieving greater health and happiness. Having been a die-hard 'sugarholic' in the past, I perfectly understand what it's like to want to eat things that are not healthy. I finally chose not to eat many of the items below when I:
* Felt the price I was paying was more than the price of giving them up
* Found that I could re-train my taste buds to love fabulously nutritious food.
The end result is that not only do I not crave sugar, etc., but:
* Junk food has no appeal whatsoever
* I can taste a bite or two of someone's homemade dessert and walk away with no conflict.
1 - Sugar. This includes white sugar, brown sugar, turbinado sugar, honey, maple syrup, malt syrup, fructose, all refined grain products such as pasta, cookies, cakes, etc., and most 'whole grain' breads, pasta, cookies, etc.
2 - Alcohol. All alcoholic beverages are 'super-carbs' that are more deadly than white sugar.
